The Dot Project

Our first art project of the year, back in September, was one in which the whole school took part.  Each class read the book, The Dot, by Peter H. Reynold.  In the book, the character Vashti is encouraged to make a mark and see where it takes her.  Students were encouraged to do the same using the 3 types of lines: straight, curvy, and broken.  The artwork was made on a paper plate to emphasize a “dot” shape.  Students did a great job, and seemed to enjoy coming up with their own designs.  The finished art has been brightening up our hallways!
